THE NASTIES

This is a brief list of just some of the Nasties in our personal care products.

SODIUM LAURYL SULPHATE   This substance is one of the most common ingredients found in any product that foams or lathers, e.g. shampoo,toothpaste,shower gel ,bubble bath,childrens shampoo and washing up liquid. It is very cheap to manufacture and when combined with salt and water will produce lots of lather. The problem with SLS is that it is a skin irritant and when mixed with other chemicals can become carcinagenic. BAD STUFF

PROPOLINE GLYCOL  This is a biproduct of the petochemical industry and can be found in most face or body creams, it creats a nice glide. However it forms an impervious film on the skin and prevents the skin being able to breath, it is an humectant and causes what we call the plastic bag effect. BAD STUFF

ALUMINIUM This substance can be found in most deodorants and has been linked to Altsimers Disease, and breast cancer.Anti perspirants also prevent the skin breating and can trap toxins in. BAD STUFF
